Press Accreditation – Cost of Media Permits in Uganda


Press Accreditation Fees in Uganda are fixed and determined by the Uganda Media council whose offices are located in Kampala the capital of Uganda. Find a local Film fixer located in Entebbe – the only international entry point for travellers flying into Uganda. Choosing a film fixer based in Entebbe means that they can easily meet or even pick you from the airport, and handover your media Permits without Hassle! Kampala is reasonably far from Entebbe meaning they would have to go through Traffic (which could delay you/them)


Press Accreditation (Media Permit) fees in Uganda


  1. a fee of US$175 per person is paid for a period not exceeding 30 days of the journalist’s stay.
  2. a fee of US$225 per person is paid for a period beyond 30 days up to six months of stay.
  3. a fee of US$325 per person is paid for a period of two years.

** The fees mentioned above are set and can be amended by the Uganda Media Council without any prior consultation. we, therefore, remind you to treat these as a guide. 

For all Filming Crews and Production Companies, we recommend that you allow ample time to the process of application, and acquiring your press accreditation(s) for every crew member. How to apply for Media Permits/Press Accreditation in Uganda


Press Accreditation In Uganda is issued by the Uganda Media council after each individual of the crew fills out the mandatory FORM G. This form must be compiled with a copy of your passport (Scan the bios Page) and a recent passport-sized photo to be used in processing your Media card (Press accreditation).
