Balloon Safari Over Murchison Falls

The hot air balloon is generally a fairly new experience recently added to the usual game drives, hikes to the top of falls, shoebill tracking, boat safari and chimpanzee tracking in Budongo among others.
Run by Dream Balloons a fully registered and well-licenced business with very experienced pilots, the Balloon Safari over Murchison Falls National Park is another exceptional way to explore the vast park. The Ultramagic type M-160 balloon manufactured in Spain carries a maximum of 8 passengers and can fly high up to 1000 feet above sea level. Children below the age of 06 though free of charge are not allowed to fly unless they are able to stand on their own and also able to take in the fright of flying so high (1,000ft ASL).
BALLOON SAFARI OVER MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK – What to expect.
There are two balloon sessions to choose from; Sunrise or Sunset package.
The Sunrise program starts as early as 5:00 am with guests arranging their own transport to the agreed take-off point as will be advised by the Dream Balloon officials. ** endeavour to find out the night before.
On arrival at the agreed take-off point, you will have the opportunity to watch and also take photos as the balloon gets inflated. You will then be briefed on safety regulations by the pilot, and thereafter you will take-off at about 6:00 am just before sunrise. **Keep your camera handy for any photo opportunity.
The Balloon ride usually lasts an hour after which you will land. You will each be awarded a certificate of “Braveness” having braved the heights amidst the wild. After the award ceremony, you will be lead to the bush breakfast location prepared by the Paraa Safari lodge. There is no need to worry as the Bush Breakfast location is secured by armed UWA rangers. The breakfast session last roundabout 1-hour after which you can join your guide and enjoy a mid-morning game drive back to your lodge.
The Sunset program starts at 4:00 pm and ends at 6:30 pm with no meals provided.
