Day 01: TRANSFER TO MURCHISON FALLS VIA ZZIWA SANCTUARY

Day 01: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park

Be ready to depart your hotel, accommodation, or residence at 6:00 am and embark on the drive to Murchison Falls National Park with the aim of getting there on time for your afternoon boat safari on the Nile. You will have lunch and thereafter transfer to the jetty where your afternoon boat safari to the falls starts.

• The boat trip to the falls is a 3 hours round trip or a 2 hours one-way trip for those that choose to hike to the top of the Falls.
• Hiking to the top of the Falls Costs an EXTRA USD15 per person payable to a UWA official.
• Viewing the Falls from the top costs $10 per person.

*This hike is also subject to prevailing weather and water levels on the River. We’ll keep you posted on this!

Gorilla Trekking is done in either Bwindi or Mgahinga  National Parks. Both these parks are located in the far southern corner of Uganda.

Getting to Bwindi from Murchison Falls takes a full day (with a very early start). Alternatively, we can break the drive by staying overnight in Fortportal ( a small vibrant town with quite a few things to see & do). Or if your budget allows, the best recommendation would be to fly from Murchison Falls to Bwindi landing at Kihihi Airstrip where your local tour operator can pick you up and transfer you to Bwindi Forest.
